Account deletion
Uninstalling an app and deleting your account are two different things. Doing one does not do the other.
Status. Registration is not open yet. There is no checkout here. Account deletion is built into the member app (My profile → Settings → Account and data); the app itself is not live yet. People who cannot sign in can ask for deletion with the contact form.

- Removes the app from your device. Your GTJ account and your documents continue. Nothing is deleted.
- Deleting your account
- Deletes your GTJ account and the data tied to it, as described below.
No payment is taken today, so there is nothing to cancel or refund; see refunds and cancellation.
How to delete your account
- Sign in, then go to Settings → Account and data.
- Optionally choose Download my data first. Export is offered, never required.
- Choose Delete my account. You will see a summary of what will be deleted.
- Confirm your identity again, then give the final confirmation. You can then follow the real status of the deletion.
Deletion is not postponed.
If you cannot sign in: send a deletion request with the contact form (type “Delete my account”), giving the e-mail address of the account, or write to hello@globaltalentjourney.com. No account or password is needed. Before deleting, GTJ writes to that address to confirm the request comes from the account’s owner; the form’s own answer is the same whether or not an account exists.
What deletion removes
- Your sign-in sessions, devices and notification tokens are revoked.
- Your vault: documents, their versions, pending uploads and the key material stored for your account.
- Your private profile and plan.
- Your community posts: every member chooses between two options before anything is removed, whatever the length of their posting history. Delete removes the words you wrote for good: your posts, the titles of topics you started, their edit history and their search entries. Where another member quoted you in their own post, the quote is removed and a line saying a quote was removed takes its place; nothing else in their post changes. Replies other members wrote under one of your topics stay, under a neutral title and first post. Anonymise keeps your posts under an anonymous account that is linked to nobody. In your posts, your topic titles and other members’ quotes of you, your username, the name on your profile, your email address and your profile link are replaced by the anonymous name, and the posts’ search entries are rebuilt; your edit history, drafts, bookmarks, notifications and other records kept for your account are deleted. Anything you wrote about yourself in other words, such as your city or your job, cannot be recognised automatically and stays as you wrote it; if your posts identify you that way, choose delete.
- A professional profile, if you have one, is removed from the directory.
Only the minimum financial records that the law requires are kept, separately. If any other data ever has to be held for a legal reason, the kind of data, the reason and the period will be stated.
Deletion records are kept apart from database backups, and after a restore they are applied again so a deleted account does not come back. This has been rehearsed on test databases, not yet on the live service. Real documents stay closed until the same rehearsal has been done there. Time targets for completing deletion in live systems and in backups will only be published once the real infrastructure can meet them.
After deletion
- If you lost your vault key, nobody, including GTJ, can recover the encrypted files for you.
- After reinstalling, signing in and recovering your vault are two separate steps.
