UK Global Talent

Global Talent is a UK visa programme. This page summarises how GOV.UK divides it, and links to the official pages.

GTJ is not an official service. This page is general information written from the official pages listed below. It does not say whether you qualify, and it does not estimate anyone’s chances. The official page is always the authority; read the current version before you rely on anything.

How GOV.UK describes it

The GOV.UK pages describe two stages for most people: an endorsement, reviewed by an endorsing body with expertise in the field, and then the visa application itself. The prize route below is the exception the pages name.

Digital technology

GOV.UK names Tech Nation as the endorsing body for this field, and divides it into:

  • Technical
  • Business

Academia or research

GOV.UK lists these ways to qualify:

  • Academic or research appointment
  • Individual fellowship
  • Research grant approved by UKRI
  • Peer review

Arts and culture

GOV.UK lists these fields:

  • Combined arts, dance, literature, music, theatre, visual arts
  • Architecture
  • Fashion design
  • Film and television (including animation, post production, visual effects)
  • Design industry

Eligible prestigious prize

GOV.UK says: If you’ve won an eligible prestigious prize, you can apply for the visa directly.

Conditions as published (paraphrased):

  • The prize must be named on the official list; other prizes from the same institutions do not count.
  • You must be the named winner of the prize.

What this page does not establish

  • GTJ has not copied the list of eligible prizes. Read the current list on GOV.UK.
  • No fees, processing times or document lists are given here; they change, and the official pages are the place to read them.
  • GOV.UK pages show no revision date, so GTJ cannot tell when their content last changed.
  • Nothing here says whether you meet any criterion.
